This app is designed for family safety purposes, allowing parents/guardians to monitor the location and safety of their children with explicit consent from all parties.
1. Introduction UbeBack Child Tracker ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of our users, especially children. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
2. Information We Collect Personal Information • Parent/guardian name, email address, phone number, and home address • Child's name, phone number, and gender • Account linking codes for parent-child device pairing Location Data • Real-time GPS location of the child's device (only when tracking is active) • Location data associated with crash detection alerts • Home/away status based on proximity to the registered home address Device Data • Accelerometer data for crash detection (processed on-device only) • Device identifiers for account linking
3. How We Use Your Information We use collected information exclusively for: • Enabling parents/guardians to monitor their child's safety • Providing real-time location tracking when activated by the child • Detecting potential crashes or emergencies and alerting parents • Managing curfew times and notifications • Facilitating communication between parent and child devices
4. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance) We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. • A parent/guardian must create the account and add children • Children can only connect using a link code provided by their parent • Parents can view, modify, or delete their child's data at any time • Location tracking is initiated by the child and can be stopped at any time
5. Data Storage and Security Your data is stored locally on your device and optionally synced to our secure servers. We implement industry-standard security measures including: • Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS) • Secure local storage on the device • Unique link codes for device pairing • No sharing of data with third parties for advertising purposes
6. Data Sharing We do NOT sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties. Data is shared only: • Between linked parent and child devices within the same family group • When required by law or to protect safety in emergency situations
7. Location Data Usage Location data is collected ONLY when: • The child presses "On My Way Home" to share their route • Crash detection identifies a potential emergency • The child manually triggers an SOS alert Location tracking stops automatically when the child indicates they have arrived home. We do not continuously track location in the background without the child's knowledge.
8. Your Rights You have the right to: • Access all data we have collected about you and your children • Request deletion of your account and all associated data • Opt out of location tracking at any time • Disconnect child devices from parent accounts • Reset the app and remove all stored data
9. Data Retention We retain your data only as long as your account is active. When you reset the app or delete your account, all locally stored data is immediately removed. Server-synced data is deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
10. Changes to This Policy We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the app. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
